LOVING TAN Deluxe Bronzing Mousse Review

Hello All! Today, I want to share with you, my opinion of the Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse in Ultra Dark, along with a backstory.

lovingtanreview

I have been using various self tanning mousses for many years, although I have never been fully satisfied with my results. I have always loathed the process of self tanning. It takes forever to apply…  usually streaks, layers on weird, leaves my skin sticky.. etc. I mostly hated the process because it would be so much work for such little result. I live with my boyfriend and he doesn’t like the smell of regular self tanner (the hamster scent). I don’t mind the scent but I can see why he doesn’t enjoy it. I hate that my sheets smell if I apply it before I go to bed.. (why yes, I do laundry…but sometimes, it just so happens that I change the sheets on the same day that I decide to self tan, I’m only human!).

A couple of months ago, a friend asked me what I recommended as a great self tanning mousse. That’s when it hit me. I had been consistently making myself use two brands in particular that I didn’t truly love. Wasting my time and money. I think the reason I’ve been using these other brands is because they are easier to obtain. I know they are available at my local sephora, but that doesn’t make them great.

If you haven’t been living under a rock, than you have heard of Loving Tan. They specialize in self tanning products and are all over social media! Working in the Beauty Industry, I had always been curious about the line but never ventured out to try it.

While using all of these tanning mousses, I prep my skin with a chemical body exfoliant such as “KP DUTY” from DermaDoctor or Kate Somerville’s Exfolikate Body. I find that it polishes the surface of the skin leaving a better application of tanning product.

Below are my opinions of three specific products in the self tanning world.

ST. TROPEZ Self tanning Mousse in Dark:

st tropez
PROS:

  • Vast selection of tanning products
  • They have a blue-green base and give off a natural tan
  • The color is buildable

CONS:

  • makes my skin feel SUPER dry after application
  • Does not last more than 4 days on me
  • Comes off patchy…takes a lot more work to exfoliate off.
  • Itchy (the whole experience)

VITA LIBERATA Self Tanning Mousse in Dark:

10151743

PROS:

  • It’s organic
  • Better tanning mit than st tropez. by better, I mean more durable and softer
  • not itchy

CONS:

  • not natural looking tan
  • claims to be odor free… It’s not.
  • Claims to last two weeks… It doesn’t.
  • Is NOT buildable, the color you choose is the color you will be.. Not any darker.

First of all. The smell is so pleasant. I have never encountered a tanning product like this..that I can’t resist. I was literally blown away. The product glides on smoothly, and blends easily. The applicator mit is quite soft. Product starts to develop in a timely manner. I didn’t have to stand there, waiting for the product to dry before putting clothes on. I put the product on at 10pm and went straight to bed. I woke up and realized that my sheets didn’t smell like self tanner and had no stains!

lovingtanswatchThe color it provides is so natural yet beautiful, as if I had just gotten back from a vacation in Thailand. The product wore well, it lasted about a week before I had to reapply it.

 WHY I LOVE IT:

  • scent
  • application
  • tanning mit (durability and softness)
  • can put clothes right on
  • natural beautiful color
  • long lasting (a week)

OVERALL:

I am fully committed to Loving Tan. I don’t have anything bad to say about the mousse. Which for me, is purely a sign that it belongs in my life. I can’t believe I’ve gone this long without trying it. I love the results that this product gives and that they don’t claim to be something that they aren’t. I can’t wait to try out more of their products in the future! I have gotten my best friends and my mom hooked on it already! My opinions are honest, I hope this review helps you better understand the difference between these products, and hopefully this gave you a better idea of Loving Tan.

**DISCLAIMER – I know many people are curious about these three brands. I am here to simply share my experience with these products in particular. I am not giving a review on these brands entirely, just mentioning things that I have observed while using these particular items. These are my honest opinions, I am not being paid to talk about these products. Photo of St. Tropez and Vita Liberata is not my own.**
