Makeup Routine

Happy Saturday!
As part of getting to know me, I decided to share with you my daily make up routine. I think that make up is a great way to express ourselves. I have always experimented with many products. Although I don’t over indulge with my daily make up. It wouldn’t be wrong to call me a beauty product junkie. I try to keep it simple but still have room to add some variety!

I have normal/dry skin with the usual skin problems: dark spots, pores, dryness, and texture.

After I apply my favorite skincare products, I move onto make up.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Step 1 Nourishing Primer:

I like this product because it does NOT clog my pores, it helps my foundation wear longer, wear better, and it’s kind of like that last step in hydrating my skin before foundation.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Foundation in Y225:

Why I keep coming back to this foundation? Because it’s truly one of the best. I’ve never been a fan of heavy thick foundation and I found that with this product, I can get the results I want but I don’t feel like there’s a mask on my face. Reasons why I love it: it comes in a variety of shades, works for all skin types, has medium coverage, is buildable (if needed) and it gives a natural finish. I’m so glad that this product gives such great results without feeling heavy on my skin. It is definitely worth the money. If you haven’t tried this out yet, please go to Sephora and get a sample. You won’t regret it.

I use this to apply my foundation. This mini is a new addition to the sephora brush family. What I love about it, is that although it is so much smaller than the original, it still gives the same phenomenal results!

SEPHORA COLLECTION Gel Serum Concealer in 03:

This product is meant to be used under the eye. It has a creamy consistency, and give excellent coverage. It does NOT crease! (which is a big deal for me.) and the best part… it’s only $14. I use my ring fingers to melt the product into place.

LAURA MERCIER Translucent Loose Setting Powder:

After I apply all of my face products, it’s time to set them in place. I’ve been using this powder for close to a year now. It blurs out dryness and pores. I’ve set my make up and worn this powder for over 12 hours before. It really works. Leaves a satin/velvety finish on the skin. I use a basic powder brush for this, and I gently pat this onto my skin.

I have green eyes with medium length lashes that like to stick straight down…

KAT VON D Tattoo Liner in Trooper:

I’ve used several liquid eyeliners throughout the years. This has been the one I always fall back on. It stays in place. It has bristles instead of a felt tip applicator, which makes it last longer and gives great control for a winged look. In my experience felt tip liners usually falls apart near the tip within a month or two, resulting in it’s ability to hold product.

SHU UMERA Eyelash Curler:

I recently went on a trip to Thailand and China, where I was able to repurchase my favorite eyelash curler. This has been the best tool I’ve ever used for my lashes. It doesn’t pull lashes out. It’s gentle, yet effective. Just to give you a little background history: my lashes are medium length…and naturally, they stick straight down. This is why I’ve tried so many eyelash curlers. The only downside to this curler is that it is not sold in the US. I’m always on the hunt for something that is easy to obtain in the US. What is your favorite?

NYX Doll Eye Mascara in Black:

I am always trying new mascaras, whether they are from the drugstore or sephora. At the moment, I am using this one from NYX. I was pleasantly surprised when I first tried it. I like the mascara wand. It gives good steady control and it does not clump!

My brows are pretty full naturally.

BENEFIT Gimme Brow in Light/Medium:

The brush applicator is easy to use, which I love. It fills my eyebrows very fast and evenly. It comes in two shades which are both very universal. I cannot recommend a better brow gel. This product does the trick!

I like to keep it pretty simple when it comes to my daily lips. My biggest concern is hydration.

I line this around my lips which gives me a natural healthy with a  hint of pink, look. I love that this product is so creamy, and easy to apply.

FARMACY LIP BLOOM in Apple Rosemary:

After lip liner, I like to add hydration. This has been my new favorite lip balm ever since the Sephora near me started carrying it. Apple Rosemary is such a unique flavor, I really love it. It has great ingredients and it gives lips a beautiful shine. It has definitely helped my lips throughout this dry winter season!

TONY MOLY Mini Lip Balm in Peach:

Asian Skincare has become one of the hottest trends recently. Of course, I jumped on the bandwagon. This balm is a lighter consistency than the Farmacy one, but that’s okay! I have both, for different reasons. I always keep a balm on hand. One in the car, one in my purse and so on. This is the one I’ve been using a lot this month.
